First, allow me introduce myself. My name is Leg1on, and I’ve been playing runescape since around 2004. For the first 2 years I had absolutely no idea how to make gold. I thought cutting willows and yews was a good idea (it’s not fyi).

However, you must not feel bad about it because their are many other lifters and athletes out there who are experiencing similar problems with their lifting.

I’ve also been a 7 time WPC World Powerlifting Champion and a 2 time WPO Champion. During my career I have also held the all-time Powerlifting Total Record, the all-time Squat record, the British Bench Press record and have of course Deadlifted over 1000lbs not once, but twice.

However, things were not always this way for me and I started out my strength training career like everybody else…

I really didn’t know anything about strength training… my Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift technique were awful and I was often over-trained and/or was suffering with injuries, aches and pains. I spent over 10 years competing on the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Tour. I have competed in longboarding events all over the world, and have numerous titles to my name including nine British National Longboard titles.

I now live in New Zealand and am the Development Manager for Surfing New Zealand. My job involves delivering International Coaching and Judging Programmes, monitoring the safety of our Approved Surf Schools, promoting surfing as an activity through the school curriculum, national selector of all NZ Junior and Open Teams and organising officials for our national competition circuit.
